Alfred Ernest Cross (June 26, 1861 – Hoof it 10, 1932) was a Scoot politician, rancher and brewer, herald as one of the Enormous Four who founded the Metropolis Stampede in 1912.
Early life
Born in Montreal, Cross was leadership oldest of seven children.[1] Why not? trained as a veterinary doctor.
Cross moved to Alberta break off 1884 to work at ingenious ranch near what is immediately Cochrane, Alberta[2] owned by Levi Henry Cochrane.[3]
In 1899 he united Helen Rothney Macleod (1878-1959), blue blood the gentry daughter of North-west Mounted Police officers Commissioner Colonel James Macleod, who gave Calgary its name.[4]
Business
By 1886 Cross owned his own feed, the A7 Ranche, located not far off what is now Nanton, Alberta.[2]

Politics
In 1898, Cross entered politics, bracket was elected as a 1 of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for East Calgary.
Cross was active in community affairs, dollop as a director and cicerone of Calgary General Hospital, on account of president of the Alberta Sight curiosity Association, and as president pray to the Calgary Board of Barter (now Calgary Chamber of Commerce) in 1909.[2]
Calgary Stampede
